Who would have guessed that a cartoon band mashing rap/dub/rock/trip hop could sell upwards of 15 million albums? For anyone who has ever wanted to know who/what the Gorillaz are, look no further than Bananaz. Director Ceri Levy spent over 7 years with the two people (Damon Albarn, Jamie Hewlett) who gave life to Gorillaz, and documents the building momentum between their two albums. The result is a brilliantly honest documentary that captures everything from the development of the band’s image to perfecting live shows. For the next month only, the entire 1:30:00 of film is available to watch online
